The Monster Underneath The Green Leaves

Een gemummificeerd lichaampje van een elf. Bestaan er elfen? Kabouters, eenhoorns. illusies etc
Of is het de mystieke wereld der fabelen?

The Monster Underneath The Green Leaves

Een klein verhaaltje om s'avonds te lezen bij het haardvuur :)

The Monster Underneath The Green Leaves

Once there was a little boy
All day long he kept himself busy
With playing in the woods behind
His parents house.
They did not mind,
Troubled, as they were, with the lack of money that
Was part of there life.
How could they ever saw the yellow lurking
Eyes underneath the green leaves,
following every step the little boy took.

But then one day,
One dreadful day
The little boy walked through the woods without care.
He didn’t saw the dark footsteps on the ground.
He did’nt hear the leaves making sound
Or even felt the yellow lurking eyes.
Snitch, Snatch.
A dark hand clawed around the boy.
Snatch snitch.
Away he went on the back
Of a big green monster.

The monster returned to his home in woods unknown
And put the little boy straight to work in his garden of pain.
There the little boy had to pick up a cruel fruit from the trees.
Pear-shaped fruits were they with a skin sharp as razorblades.
The boy cried and wept and his hands were covered with blood.
But the monster didn’t mind. He laughed in a horrible way.
This torture went on for several days.
Every day the boy picked up the sharp fruits ,
while the monster laughed with the misery of his victim.
But soon enough the monster would taste the bitterness of revenge.

One night while the monster dreamt of screams and painful torture.
The boy left his open cage silently moving towards the sleeping beast.
Out of his pocket he took a sharp fruit and smashed it in his hideous face.
With a loud and painful roar the monster awoke.
The pain and blood in his eyes blinded him dreadfully .
Like a mad man he sprung up and fell into the great fireplace
where the flames feasted on his greenish flesh.

Finally the hurt was over.
Victorious the little boy laughed and danced
the whole night through.
And as he did he stumbled onto a casket
full of gold and marble jewels.
The boy took a great sack
and carried the treasure out of the grim house,
out of the darkened woods

How joyous were his parents
when they saw their son back.
Not only they had back there loved child,
The treasure the little boy had brought
Ended the life of misery they had known.
From then on Dame Fortune did only
but smile upon them.

So came the dreadful beast to his end,
And if you doubt if this all truly happened.
Go then to a forest and ask
the trees what ever happened
to the monster underneath the green Leaves.
